Everything as expected in a visitor centre. However, it didn’t get the 5 starts because some staff at cafe were not wearing face mask when delivering food to the table. It is inadmisible that clients.... more »

Situated near the village of Danby, this is an excellent place to plan your tours/walks in the North Yorks National Park. We were able to get a wheelchair for my wife and we went on the Riverside... more »

Once you've paid to park take a picnic and you will have a very cheap fun filled day with the kids. Go for a walk in the small wood next to the car park and spot fairy doors and houses. Cross over the road to a lovely play park or run round the little maze to the centre. Walk past the play park and let the kids get creative in the mud kitchen. Go into the centre itself and enjoy playing on the indoor climbing wall, doing puzzles or trying to build a dry stone wall. There are lots of interactive things for the kids to do that involve nature. There are also informative videos running and lots of information boards The tea room is worth a visit, food and drinks are lovely.

Usually love this place. Staff are great, always something different to do there, free and the kids get a good runaround. Kids often ask to come here if I ask for suggestions as to where to go. Only given 3 stars as I sent my children there with aunty and granny in the summer holidays. There was a really horrible family in the climbing area. There were 6 unsupervised children. Despite the signage that's up saying no unsupervised children allowed etc the children's granny was physically pushed, my 5 year old nephew was blocked in the slide by these older bullying children so they went away. They returned an hour later only to be confronted by the same unsupervised children. This has sadly really put me off returning or recommending this place as clearly the staff at the centre put signs up but do not ensure that the rules are adhered to for all visitors. Such a shame as the facilities are fab. Just reluctant to recommend or return here due to lack of staff control over the play areas.
