A Magical Zoo of Mythological, Legendary and Extinct Creatures & Creations.
The Bark Park is reviewed on TripAdvisor as the Number 1 Thing to Do in Dalgety Bay and its creatures have been admired, several times, by UK National and Local newspapers and magazines (see the Photos section).
Book your tour via SMS by texting the password 'BarkParkTour' on mobile 07882430210. You will receive a reply soon after to schedule your tour.
The tour is guided by Denis Carbonaro in person, the creator of the BarkPark, and the price is £12 for groups of up to 6 people +£2 for each extra person.
On request, the tour can be guided by Haggis the Scottish Yeti and mascot of the Bark Park and the price is £22 for groups of up to 6 people + £2 for each extra person.
Haggis the Yeti, was recently selected on the very front page of 'The Guardian' the British daily newspaper, on the 11th of August 2017, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Edinburgh Festival (see the Photos section). Haggis is the latest creature within the park, a very complex costume made of real woolen hair, whilst his teeth and nails are made of real carved wood. Haggis the Yeti is the result of 8 months of work, a surreal character who comes to life when the costume is worn by Denis himself. It can require half hour for Denis to wear it. It weighs around 30kg and it also has an internal air cooling system. When Haggis is not alive you will find him hanging on a special hanger and demonstrated as a still creature alongside the others within the park during the tour.
Highlights of the tour are the life-size extinct 'Woody Mammoth' (who went viral on the UK papers in August 2015 - see the Photos section), the 26 feet high Pirate Nest (also on the news several times - see the Photos section), built on an ancient fantasy oak tree by an enormous Eagle and his wife 'Spiker' the hundredfold spiky spider. Eagle and Spiker have fallen madly in love and are nesting together. They chose to build their nest in the shape of a pirate ship and their eggs could hatch any time now. Eagle is weaving twigs and branches, whilst Spiker is weaving the rigging and sails of the Pirate Nest which are all spider web like.
The tour then culminates with the discovery and opening of that very unusual Insatiable Treasure Chest. On request, the Treasure Chest can be used to hide a present if the tour is booked in occasion of a birthday.
You will also have the chance to visit the Bark Park's workshop where past, present and future Creatures & Creations are conceived, designed and gradually developed. Here Denis will be revealing some of his secrets, tools, sketches and models.
Remember to bring along your Nanas & Grandpas too! It's not only for children you see!
*Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an individual of 18 years or over.
*The tour can last between 40 and 60 minutes depending on the size of the group.
