Crantock Beach, Crantock

#7 of 80 in Beaches in Cornwall
Must see · Beach · Nature / Park
Relax and watch the waves at Crantock Beach, a quiet sandy stretch sheltered by dunes on the River Gannel estuary. Forming a part of the expanse between Pentire and West Pentire headlands, the beach also features high cliffs at the southern end, which provide shelter from the wind and calm waters for children and less experienced swimmers. Elsewhere ample waves set the scene for the onsite surf school. Facilities include restrooms, a snack stand, and umbrella rentals. • Such a lovely beach. It has the Ganal which is the river which runs into the sea. Nice place for children to play and swim safely rather than competing with the waves further up to the beach...  more »
  • We always come here at October half-term. The beach is just fantastic. This time it was wild and beautiful. Walks around are stunning and we saw seals off the headland. Lovely walks up The Gannel too.  more »
  • Apart from being a lovely clean sandy beach all ages enjoying themselves plus the dogs. Be careful of any currents in Gannel as tide comes in. Parking spaces can be a problem as extremely busy . People spacing sensibly on beach
