  • Beautiful steam hauled 20 minute each way trip along the banks of the river Dart. Museum with the only surviving broad gauge loco worth a 10 minute visit. Good car park at Buckfastleigh with usual tea room and shop. Went as a club outing including a prearranged workshop tour.
  • If you are a steam fan this will tick all your boxes and more !...you may even get as much fun out of your visit as the volunteers obviously do that run it.....steam trains running around shunting to the middle of nowhere when the passenger trains are out the station. Huge car park and a field as back up if it gets full. Great restaurant with a good menu of down to earth meals at realistic prices. They stock a local ice cream made with Devon full cream milk, the children couldn't get enough of it. There is a very interesting museum and boot fair prices on old books, magazines and DVD,s.the gift shop has a vast range of different gauge model railways and all the track and buildings enthusiasts need for their hobby.
