Peruse galleries that immortalize the UK's media greats, from television to animation, at National Science and Media Museum, a paradise of screens. The museum features seven floors of galleries that showcase everything from photography to videogaming and the Internet. In 1998, some of the BBC's offices relocated to the building, making this a fully operational film research facility and professional space. Make sure to visit the "Magic Factory," where you can conduct hands-on experiments with light and color to discover how they are used in film. Both the animation and gaming galleries have classic games that you can play. All seven floors of galleries are free; however, you must buy a ticket to the three cinemas located inside the building, including an IMAX screen. National Science and Media Museum hosts three international film festivals annually: Bradford International Film Festival, Bradford Animation Festival, and Fantastic Films Weekend. • GO, Fabulous FREE family day out. Amazing museum with so much hands on for everyone. Special exhibits do change periodically. There was a Space one celebrating the anniversary of the first moon landing when we visited. History of media was really incredible. A Game room full of classic home systems to play on was fun. The kids enjoyed seeing what the parents played compared to modern PS4s😁There are arcade style ones as well. The cafe on site is affordable and tasty which is nice. There are also tables on another level for eating your own packed snacks. Wonderful gift shop with nice variety and prices.
  • Excellent location looking down at Bradford. Lots to do for children although cramped foyer. Very bright and airy feel. We visited during the Bradford Science Fair 2019 with exhibits in Centenary Square. Could have done with more food stalls. Good talks on offer catering to all age groups but especially children.
