The Tank Museum Reviews
The Tank Museum is great, me and my son spent 5 hours here and we only managed to see about half of the exhibits, as my son who has autism likes to read all the detailed history and information about ... more »
Missed some of the things first time so did a repeat visit as we had a 12 month free ticket which was very good it is also very informative more »
Fantastically laid out HUGE museum. Lots to see and good also for kids. A couple of cafes are right there too, along with a soft play area for the kids to go crazy in. The only slightly disappointing thing was that you couldn't go in the tanks, except for one. Not a deal breaker for an adult, but kids will be a bit disappointed - however there is a WWI tank they can climb in and have a look around. Great day out none the less. When you're done, you aren't forced to fight your way through the gift shop. The gift shop itself is located at the entrance and nicely out of the way. It's huge too, with tonnes of good stuff, so worth a visit - but on your own terms. Also, if you buy a ticket, it's good for an entire year. Go as many times as you please.
Oh my god, this place is huge. We have been here twice in a year now thanks to the ticket price covering entry for 12 months. We only had a few hours for this trip so we only covered 10% of the exhibits, so plan to spend an entire day there and not even see everything. They do a great job at telling the stories of tank regiments without glorifying war. The Afghanistan section is my favourite with some excellent stories and machinery.
