Roam through Winterbourne House and Garden, an Edwardian property heavily influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement. On the ground floor of the house, learn about its previous occupants and their importance in the community through interactive exhibits. Climb the stairs and see how the inhabitants would have lived in the period-furnished rooms. Outside, amble through the 3 hectare (6 acre) botanical garden, home to over 6,000 plant species from around the world. The souvenir shop stocks a range of locally produced items, such as pottery and Winterbourne-grown produce. There is also a secondhand bookshop on site. Visit the terrace tearoom for tea, cakes, and meals. You are also welcome to bring a picnic with you. Take the guesswork out of planning a Birmingham vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.

The house is beautiful, telling a story in every room, bringing a bygone era to life. The garden however is spectacular. We were lucky to visit on a beautiful hot summers day and we could have spent the whole day here. There is a cafe, a really nice shop, a gallery and many places to sit down and enjoy the surroundings or bring a picnic. We will definitely come again. Amazing place.

An absolute gem of a garden, well worth a visit. It's incredible to think that this is just a couple of miles from the city centre, it's a haven of serenity. Beautifully landscaped gardens with a stunning display of herbaceous borders, features and specimen trees. The cacti house is spectacular! Knowledgeable staff too; we spoke briefly to one young chap who was very helpful. Many plants are labelled too which is good. The tearoom is very pleasant and we found it reasonably priced and clean despite being very busy. It's worth spending a short while in the House too; interesting displays and room settings. I'd recommend this place to everyone; well worth the £8 entry fee.
