#6 of 10 in Parks in Alnwick
Hulne Park is the only one remaining of the three parks that once surrounded Alnwick Castle in Northumberland, providing wood and meat for the table of the Percy family, the Dukes of Northumberland. The park is walled, and was landscaped by Capability Brown.
It is the site of Hulne Priory, Alnwick Abbey, and Brizlee Tower.
It is open to pedestrian visitors at set times in the summer.

  • Excellent walking routes, thoroughly enjoyed this nature park.
  • The Estate is a great place to go for a quiet walk/run and is a 5 minute walk from Alnwick Market Place to get to the entrance. There are 3 walks available here, (4, 5 and 6 miles each) all are well paved and there's a long drive which is wheelchair accessible. Not only is there plenty of wildlife to see (including red squirrel and dear) but plenty of history, Brizlee Tower and the ruins of Hulne Abbey are worth a visit. Be aware that dogs and bikes are not allowed.
