Mesquita Jumeirah, Dubai

4.1
#1 of 19 in Historic Sites in Dubai
Visit Mesquita Jumeirah, a place of worship and cultural center that places particular emphasis on introducing Islam to non-Muslim guests. Built in the late 1970s, the mosque represents a traditional Fatimid style of architecture, with tall twin minarets on either side of a large central dome. Join a guided tour to see the mosque's attractive interior and learn about the traditions and history of Islam in the country and across the region. As opposed to many places of worship in the city, photography is allowed here, so make sure to bring your camera. • I did not go with long sleeved trousers, and lent a free costume without leaving anything. It is a very solemn and beautiful mosque. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are close by, so it's well worth a stop!

  • The Jumeirah Mosque is very beautiful. What I had first criticised had to pay "admission," because I didn't know that from Muslim countries before, that was a culture shock. In the typical oriental annex you can ' register ', pay and enjoy tea, dates, Arabic pancakes etc. for free (that's why it was worth it) and buy souvenirs. The "guided tour" then begins at 10 a.m. It's a big prayer room with side rooms. In the adjoining room there was a children's play area where the children were allowed to play during the inform. The shoes are removed, if necessary suitable garments such as abaya (long dress) and Schal/headscarf or for the men's robes are provided free of charge. Now the friendly lady tells about the mosque, Islam and culture. We are allowed to ask any questions. I personally recommend leadership to people who have paid little attention to Islam and culture or are knowledgeable about it, have questions or prejudices, provided you speak English. The lady explains it really great. Don't be afraid to ask. We went along with the lead to the end, although we are well versed and overwhelmed by the kindness. The initial criticism on my part was in vain. If you're in a hurry, look at the mosque from the outside, it's worth it. Has something fairytale. One must not confuse and compare with the Abu Dhabi Mosque.
