For a short history lesson, make a brief visit to Al Badiyah Mosque, a tiny, 53 sq m (570 sq ft) structure probably built in the 15th century. Admire the oldest mosque in the emirates, built with materials from the surrounding area, mainly stones covered in terracotta-colored mud. Non-Muslim visitors are free to take a look inside, as long as they wear suitable clothes and take off their shoes before entering. Before you head to Al Badiyah, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Al Badiyah sightseeing app , to make sure you see all that Al Badiyah has to offer, including Al Badiyah Mosque.
Al Badiyah Mosque Reviews
Мы не планировали сюда приезжать. Остановились, т.к. увидели по пути древние постройки. Территория не большая, вход бесплатный. Лучше бы ознакомиться с историей прежде чем сюда приходить. Мы были не п... more »We didn't plan on coming here. We stopped because we saw ancient buildings along the way. The area is not large, admission is free. It would be better to read the story before you come here. We were unprepared in this regard, so we were not particularly impressed. And then there's the moment. The mosque stands back from the road at Biddiya (spellings on maps and signage varies, so be warned). It has unique architecture and apparently dates back to the 14th century. It is not open to non-Mu... more »
Must visit this distinctive structure if you love history A very old masjid made in 1446.....very well preserved despite being built by stone & mud bricks. It is still open to pray in from 9am to 5pm
Al Badiyah Mosque is a small mosque yet full of history, and it's very different from the mosques you see anywhere in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. It's a refreshing place with such great view of the sea and the surroundings of Fujairah. It is easy to locate and can be seen immediately since it is only situated along the road. For tourists, remember to drop by their office to borrow Abaya cloak before going inside the mosque. i Inspired by a photo of the Al Badiyah mosque, we saw in the Museum of Islamic Civilisation in Sharjah, we got in our car and drove to Al Badiyah. It is easy to find and parking was easy as well. We spent an our there, it was a beautiful visit. The drive through the mountains is quite impressive, the colourful stalls with all the fruits.. It was one of the best day trips in the UAE
