4.7
Home to the graves of soldiers, famous figures, nobles, and a host of ornate tombs, Lychakiv Cemetery stands as one of Ukraine's largest necropolises. Visit the massive cemetery, with more than 400,000 graves, and explore its 86 different plots spread out over 42 hectares (104 acres). You can join a guided tour in order to see a selection of the most notable graves and figures laid to rest here. Don't miss seeing the plot dedicated to the "Defenders of Lwow," an ornate memorial commemorating the efforts of Lviv's young Polish defenders during the Polish-Ukrainian War from 1918 to 1919. If you want to use a camera in the cemetery, you'll need to pay a small fee. Before you visit Lviv, use our trip planner to discover what you can do and see there.

  • This cemetery is called the Père Lachaise of Lviv. On this hilly cemetery there are many celebrities and war victims. You can wander around endlessly. You have to pay a small amount to enter the cemetery. The cemetery is easily reached by a tram that departs from the Rynok.

  • Beautiful e-mails, especially the US-poles! There is a need to welcome you when visiting Lviv. Convenient access by public transport or by taxi. We find here tomers of many distinguished writers, professors and scientists. After going to Lviv's cemetery, we visit the Necropolis devoted to the youngest defenders of Lviv.

  • What a beautiful place to reflect and wonder. I came here on a late summer day and didn’t regret it a single time. The way to arrive there through the medicine faculties is actually also quite beautiful. Unmissable experience for Lviv!
  • A must visit in Lviv, you’ll find many historical figures buried here from the 20th century. This cemetery and national landmark will take you back through time and Lviv’s history during each period. A very interesting place.
