Van castle is located about 3 km from center of Van city. Very easy to go there with taxi 30 Kira or dolmush 2.5 Turkish lira. more »

Nice place to visit. It's really enormous, you should probably put in about 4-5 hours to search it thoroughly. This castle was so safe and hard to dig through, In fact impossible from the ground. But Iranians finally managed to conquer it through the lake. This is also one of the only bulidings that survived during 2011 earthquake in Van, which almost swallowed all thw city.

It's better from outside nothing in it. However the view is quite good. To be honest I think there is a lot of work to be done there.
