Alaattin Camii, Sinop

It is located in the center of the city. This mosque, which is written in the Evkaf records belonging to Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat, is thought to have been built immediately after the seljuk state's conquest of Sinop in 1214. The structure, which was built with a transverse plan, has 2 square structures. Measuring 66 x 22 m, this Grand Mosque is surrounded by a large courtyard measuring 66 x 44 m, 12 m high from the north side. The courtyard is entered through 3 doors and the interior of the mosque opens to the courtyard with 5 doors. One of the mosque's pulleys is higher in the middle of 3 large; On the east and west sides, there is one small dome. The rest of the structure is covered with cross vaults. Structure; It resembles the Early Islamic Mosque scheme with its wide plan and large courtyard. Mihrab: Made of marble and has intricacies in seljuk style. The embossed motifs on the borders are also seen in other Candaroğlu altars. The altar is surrounded by Verse-Al-Kursi from 3 sides. Pulpit: The original pulpit had intense intricate herbal decorations. According to Evliya Çelebi, this pulpit was the pulpit of bursa Grand Mosque. He was a degree alike. This pulpit was torn apart by the collapse of the dome of the mosque in 1853 and its parts were taken to the Tiled Pavilion in Istanbul. The current pulpit is in the 19th century. It was made of wood in the 19th century. The mosque was last renovated in 2008-2009 with its courtyard. In the northeast corner of the courtyard, there is the Tomb of the Sons of Candar (Isfendiyar) with 11 rows in it.
