The surreal dance of Mevlana Whirling Dervishes is said to be purifying and even transforming. A group of men in long white dresses silently appear, as the orchestra plays the sounds of ancient Islamic hymns; soon after, you'll witness a dance of continuous whirling, gentle and one-directional, characterized by a highly spiritual note. The purpose of the ceremony lies in the belief that all of the world's creation is constantly spinning. Therefore, one who spins will achieve greater perfection.
