Misir Carsisi, Istanbul

#3 of 705 in Shopping in Turkey
Stroll the aisles of Misir Carsisi to experience the smells, sounds, and tastes of Turkey. The large covered market is second only to the Grand Bazaar in the Turkish capital. Built in 1660, this was historically the hub of Istanbul's spice trade, and it continues to be today. Venture to the Eminonu quarter of the Fatih district to discover more than 80 different vendors selling spices, traditional Turkish delights and other sweets, dried fruits, nuts, and souvenirs. Try your luck at bargaining for your purchase, or just savor the intense, pleasing smells that the many spices offer. Plan a Istanbul trip in moments using our itinerary builder.

  • The second name of this market is the spice market and it is completely true. A huge selection of sweets, spices and even coffee, which at once you'll be prayed on special equipment. In addition to these products there is nothing interesting in the market-"Cherkizon", in its worst form! I recommend to visit only the main, perfectly decorated building and buy gifts and sweets, for the rest of the time is better not to spend

  • Egyptian bazaar Istanbu ' Lun is one of the places of heart. Every time I visit here, the curiosity of history is increasing. The fragrance that you feel when entering the bazaar is in my memory. This is a good place to visit Istanbul. I would also recommend a delight.
