  • Church Mosque with Old Name St. Gregorius Church It is one of the earliest Christian monuments in Cappadocia and is of great importance to the Orthodox world. Where is St. Gregorius Church? It is located 38 km from Aksaray, in the Center of Güzelyurt District. The church was built by Emperor Theodosius in the plan of the closed cross in 385 in the name of Theologos, a nenezili religious scholar. The bell tower of the church, which was later undergone various changes, was turned into a minaret and turned into a mosque. The iconastasis, made of wood in the apse of the church mosque and painted with root paint, was moved from its place and arranged as a mihrab when the church was converted into a mosque. In addition to this work, which is one of the most beautiful examples of wood carving, the Russian Tsar II. The wooden anbon sent by Nikola complements the iconic. To the north of the garden is the guesthouse of the temple. Next to the Church Mosque there is groundwater, ayazma, descending by thirty-five steps. Places to visit in Aksaray
