  • A great structure from ottoman time. You can see the green ottoman seal on top of gate.
  • According to the information in front of the mosque, the foundation is the church. The governor of Genoa, who saw the great army under the command of Fatih (2nd Mehmet), who surrounded the city from both land and sea for the purpose of conquest, took a decision and handed over the city without a fight. It was converted into a mosque after the city's surrender. As a result of the war, the high-ranking Genoese and some Europeans in the city were brought to Istanbul, but were not taken prisoner. Fatih has effectively eliminated the biggest obstacle in Anatolian territory that clearly paves the way for an attack on the Greek Empire of Trabzon.
