Nearly two millennia old, Baths of Antoninus form part of the Carthage World Heritage Site. Preserved sculptures, stone carvings in Latin, and giant pillars will have you contemplating the complex's construction while enjoying the scenic seaside views. A carving of the original layout of the compound will help you picture the baths more clearly-- you can also take a guided tour for extra information about the rich history of the site. In the latter you certainly do not expect Pompeii, what remains is very little but amazing, it is one of the fundamental stages if you find yourself in Tunisia
Of the sites in Carthage, the Antonine Baths are probably the best maintained and the most extensive. They have been excavated to the point that you get a good grasp of the level of the craftsmanship and the complexity of the Roman creation. They also agree not filled with the litter and detritus you find at most other sites in Carthage. Well worth visiting.
This is one of the reasons why i wanted to live during this period, one can easily imagine how it used to be. There are few phenician graves around the bath, there are detailed describtion signs, and even a map of the bath. Once you walk inside the ruins, you can understand how big it was and how majestic it used to be!!! Really worth the visit
