Yosemite National Park

Massive granite mountains, towering waterfalls, groves of Giant Sequoia trees, and wilderness as far as the eye can see distinguish the landscape of Yosemite National Park.
On the 2nd (Mon), cruise along Tioga Pass, explore the striking landscape of Bridalveil Fall, then get great views at Yosemite, Tunnel View, and finally admire the sheer force of Yosemite Falls. Here are some ideas for day two: take in the dramatic natural features at Glacier Point.

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Step off the beaten path and head to Cannon Beach and Lan Su Chinese Garden. Let the collections at Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and Cannon Beach Gallery capture your imagination. Step out of Portland with an excursion to Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach--about 1h 30 min away. There's more to do: explore the activities along Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area and take in nature's colorful creations at International Rose Test Garden.

Start off your visit on the 8th (Sun): see the interesting displays at The Museum of Flight, then examine the collection at Museum of Pop Culture, and then walk around Kerry Park.

The tiny town of Friday Harbor is the largest village on the San Juan Islands, and it fits within just 2.6 km (1 sq mi) of space.
