The first Ottoman capital and a World Heritage Site, Bursa is known as "The Royal Springs" for its famous hot mineral waters--though it offers much more than your typical spa destination.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Thu): see the interesting displays at Mudanya Armistice House Museum and then stop by Cumalikizik. On the 3rd (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: hunt for treasures at Koza Hani and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Green Tomb.

Traveling by car from Istanbul to Bursa takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and taxi; or take a bus. In April in Bursa, expect temperatures between 21°C during the day and 10°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Fri) to allow enough time to drive to Izmit.

Izmit

İzmit, ancient Nicomedia, is a city in Turkey, the administrative center of the Kocaeli Province as well as the Metropolitan Municipality. Start off your visit on the 4th (Sat): get engrossed in the history at Selim Sirri Pasa Konagi, see the interesting displays at Gayret Gemi Museum, then browse the different shops at Outlet Center Izmit, and finally fly down the slopes at Kartepe Ski Center. Keep things going the next day: kick back and relax at Mavi Bayraklı Plajı, identify plant and animal life at Pembe Kayalar, and then kick back and relax at Sardala Koyu.
