Turkey's capital and second-largest city, Ankara supports a large population of foreign diplomats and young students, contributing to the city's international feel.
On the 29th (Wed), see the interesting displays at Rahmi M. Koc Muzesi, then see the interesting displays at Altindag Belediyesi Sair ve Yazarlar Evi, then take an in-depth tour of Anitkabir, and finally let little ones run wild at Da Vinci Board Game Cafe. Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at Ulucanlar Prison Museum, walk around Lozan Parki, and then stroll around Ismet Inonu Parki.

Traveling by flight from Istanbul to Ankara takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. Traveling from Istanbul in July, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 30°C in Ankara. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Thu) early enough to drive to Pamukkale.
