The commercial capital of the country, Colombo has added modern touches to its colonial-era core, creating an exciting and eclectic coastal city.
Start off your visit on the 3rd (Mon): enjoy the sand and surf at Negombo Beach. Keep things going the next day: take in the spiritual surroundings of Gangaramaya (Vihara) Buddhist Temple, examine the collection at Colombo National Museum, and then pause for some photo ops at Independence Memorial Hall.

Singapore, Singapore to Colombo is an approximately 7-hour flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Singapore to Colombo is minus 2.5 hours. In June in Colombo, expect temperatures between 37°C during the day and 30°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Wed) to allow time to travel to Kandy.

Nestled between mountains in inland Sri Lanka, Kandy proudly bears its World Heritage Site designation while remaining culturally independent and colorfully picturesque.
Kick off your visit on the 6th (Thu): take in nature's colorful creations at Royal Botanical Gardens, take in the spiritual surroundings of Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, then stroll the grounds of Kandy Garrison Cemetery, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Kandy Lake.

Getting from Colombo to Kandy by combination of taxi and flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: take a train; or drive. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Thu) so you can travel to Unawatuna.

Unawatuna

Palm-fringed beaches with golden sand, turquoise water, and a colorful coral reef are enough to draw any beachgoer to Unawatuna, but there's plenty to do off the beach here as well.
Family-friendly places like Bentota Beach and Mirissa Beach will thrill your kids. Change things up with these side-trips from Unawatuna: Dolphin & Whale Watching (in Mirissa), Ahungalla Beach (in Ahungalla) and Hikkaduwa Beach (in Hikkaduwa).
