Palm-fringed beaches with golden sand, turquoise water, and a colorful coral reef are enough to draw any beachgoer to Unawatuna, but there's plenty to do off the beach here as well.Explore Unawatuna's surroundings by going to Mirissa (Mirissa Beach, Dolphin & Whale Watching, &more) and Hikkaduwa (Community Tsunami Museum & Hikkaduwa Beach). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Galle Fort, kick back and relax at Jungle Beach, look for gifts at Made In Ceylon, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Unawatuna Devol Devalaya.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Unawatuna is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. The time zone difference moving from Arabian Standard Time (AST) to India Standard Time (IST) is 2.5 hours. Traveling from Riyadh in December, things will get a bit warmer in Unawatuna: highs are around 36°C and lows about 28°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Sat) so you can go by car to Ella.

The relaxing hilltop village of Ella benefits from a more temperate climate than much of the rest of country thanks to its high elevation.Kick off your visit on the 27th (Sun): stop by R. M. S Antique And Brassware, take in the awesome beauty at Little Adam's Peak, then don't miss a visit to Nine Arches Bridge, and finally learn and have fun at Honey Bee Garden. Drive from Unawatuna to Ella in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and taxi; or fly. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Kandy.
