Situated in the eastern Himalayan range, state capital Gangtok combines a modern, resort town style with ancient spiritual beliefs and an impressive natural heritage.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Thu): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Saibaba Temple. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 17th (Fri): hunt for treasures at Lal Bazar, look for all kinds of wild species at Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, stop by Golden Tips Tea Shop, then take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Katao, and finally try your luck at Mayfair Gangtok Casino Mahjong.

Kullu to Gangtok is an approximately 14-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. On the 19th (Sun), you'll travel to Thimphu.

The kingdom's capital and most modern city, Thimphu offers a mix of ancient traditions and modern commercialism.
On the 19th (Sun), examine the collection at Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan and then get a sense of history and politics at Tashichho Dzong (Thimpu Dzong). Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Phajoding Monastery, play a few rounds at Royal Thimphu Golf Course, appreciate the history behind Kuenselphodrang, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Jomolhari, then deepen your understanding at National Institute for Zorig Chusum, and finally shop like a local with Junction Book Store.

Traveling by flight from Gangtok to Thimphu takes 6 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and train. The time zone changes from India Standard Time (IST) to Bhutan Time (BTT), which is usually a 0.5 hour difference. In May in Thimphu, expect temperatures between 26°C during the day and 14°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 21st (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Paro.

A charming historic town with many sacred sites cradled in a verdant valley, Paro offers a scenic base to explore the important Buddhist attractions and pristine nature around it.
On the 21st (Tue), get engrossed in the history at Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche Memorial House, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Dzongdrakha Monastry, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Paro River. Here are some ideas for day two: see the interesting displays at National Museum, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kyichu Lhakhang, then contemplate the long history of Drukgyel Dzong, and finally steep yourself in history at Rinpung Dzong.
