Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Mon): enjoy the sea views from Calton Hill. Here are some ideas for day two: wander the streets of Edinburgh Old Town, then explore the historical opulence of Edinburgh Castle, then sample the fine beverages at The Scotch Whisky Experience, and finally browse the exhibits of Camera Obscura and World of Illusions.

Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Start off your visit on the 25th (Thu): get interesting insight from Tours, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Nevis Range Mountain Resort, and then pause for some serene contemplation at MacIntosh Parish Church.

Traveling by car from Edinburgh to Fort William takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or take a train. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Thu) so you can drive to Isle of Skye.

Kingussie is a small town in the Highland region of Scotland. On the 27th (Sat), enjoy some diversion at TreeZone Aviemore, enjoy the sand and surf at Loch Morlich, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Loch Garten Nature Reserve. On the 28th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Dalwhinnie Distillery, see the interesting displays at Highland Folk Museum, then look for all kinds of wild species at RZSS Highland Wildlife Park, and finally delve into the distant past at Ruthven Barracks.
