Messina is the capital of the Italian Metropolitan City of Messina. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Messina: Chianalea di Scilla (in Scilla), Caseificio Monteporo (in Spilinga) and Tropea (Tropea Beach & The Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola). There's still lots to do: explore the stunning scenery at Gole Alcantara Botanical and Geological Park, admire the masterpieces at Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Reggio Calabria, pause for some serene contemplation at Duomo di Messina, and don't miss a visit to Corso Umberto.
