The City of Lakes

Located on both banks of the Mississippi River, Minneapolis salutes the state's love of the outdoors with numerous lakes, wetlands, creeks, and waterfalls--many connected to one another by a national scenic byway great for sightseeing.
Minneapolis is known for fun & games, museums, and nature. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: admire the masterpieces at Minneapolis Institute of Art, walk around Mill Ruins Park, look for gifts at Candyland, and take an in-depth tour of Mill City Museum.

Denver to Minneapolis is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. The time zone changes from Mountain Standard Time to Central Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Denver in May, plan for somewhat warmer nights in Minneapolis, with lows around 50°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 30th (Sun) so you can catch the flight to Duluth.

Situated on the westernmost point of the Lake Superior, Duluth represents a booming port city.
Change things up with these side-trips from Duluth: Two Harbors (Gooseberry Falls State Park & Split Rock Lighthouse). There's still lots to do: admire all the interesting features of Minnesota's North Shore Scenic Drive, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Vikre Distillery, take in the views from Aerial Lift Bridge, and explore the striking landscape of Congdon Park.

Traveling by flight from Minneapolis to Duluth takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Minneapolis in May, things will get a bit cooler in Duluth: highs are around 53°F and lows about 40°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Wed) early enough to travel to Okoboji.
