On the Garonne River, Toulouse is on the site of an ancient Roman settlement, and even today, many of the smaller streets follow their Roman counterparts, while many of the red brick buildings are built in a pseudo-Roman style.
On the 18th (Fri), listen to music at Theatre du Capitole and then contemplate the waterfront views at Garonne. On the next day, snap pictures at Pont Neuf, then examine the collection at Museum of natural History, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedrale St-Etienne, and finally get the lay of the land with Walking tours.

On the 22nd (Tue), relax in the rural setting at Ferme La Borie D'Imbert, then take in a show at Parc Durandal, then explore the fascinating underground world of Grottes de Cougnac, and finally Head underground at Grottes de Lacave.
