A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Bring the kids along to Food Tours and Busselton Jetty. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Margaret River: Jewel Cave (in Augusta) and Meelup Beach (in Dunsborough). There's much more to do: Head underground at Lake Cave, stop by Whirlwind Olives and Oil, look for all kinds of wild species at Sunflowers Animal Farm, and savor the flavors at Food & Drink.

Bring the kids along to Kings Park and Botanic Garden and The Perth Mint. Change things up with these side-trips from Perth: Fremantle (The Fremantle Round House & Fremantle Prison) and Dolphin & Whale Watching (in Mandurah).
