Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Sat): see the interesting displays at Edo-Tokyo Museum, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sensō-ji, then explore the world behind art at Tokyo National Museum, and finally take in nature's colorful creations at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: wander the streets of Ginza and then wander the streets of Odaiba.

Sydney, Australia to Tokyo is an approximately 12.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone changes from Australian Eastern Standard Time (New South Wales) (AEST) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a -1 hour difference. In November, Tokyo is slightly colder than Sydney - with highs of 19°C and lows of 11°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 3rd (Sun) early enough to travel to Hiroshima.

On the 4th (Mon), step into the grandiose world of Hiroshima Castle, then don't miss a visit to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, and then examine the collection at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: contemplate the long history of Itsukushima Shrine, then head off the coast to Miyajima, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Mikasahama Beach.

Take a train from Tokyo to Hiroshima in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. In November, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Tue) to allow time to take a train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Get some cultural insight at Gion and Dotonbori. Get some historical perspective at Nijo Castle and Sanjusangendo Temple. Change things up with a short trip to Nara Park in Nara (about 1h 10 min away). And it doesn't end there: take in the spiritual surroundings of Kinkaku-ji, steep yourself in history at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, don't miss a visit to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and examine the collection at Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts Fureaikan.

You can take a train from Hiroshima to Kyoto in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In November in Kyoto, expect temperatures between 19°C during the day and 10°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
