Pearl of the Aegean

The birthplace of Homer, the ancient port city of Izmir boasts a colorful heritage that includes traces of Greek, Armenian, and Jewish cultures.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Ancient City of Ephesus and Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House). You'll explore and learn at Arkas Art Center and Maket Koy. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Izmir: Sirince Koyu (in Sirince), Selcuk (Ephesus Museum, Cittantica Ephesus Park, &more) and Dilek National Park (in Guzelcamli). There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Kemeralti Market, don't miss a visit to Saat Kulesi (Clock Tower), see the interesting displays at KEY Museum, and take in the waterfront at Kordonboyu.
