London to Isle of Skye is an approximately 8.5-hour combination of flight and bus. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from London in September: highs in Isle of Skye hover around 17°C, while lows dip to 11°C. On the 7th (Mon), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Fort William.

Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Change things up with these side-trips from Fort William: Cairngorm Mountain (in Aviemore), Highland Titles Nature Reserve (in Duror) and Oban (McCaig's Tower & Oban Distillery). Drive from Isle of Skye to Fort William in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
