A history spanning over a thousand years, vibrant nightlife, and a mix of Georgian and modern architecture make Dublin a popular European tourist destination.
Step off the beaten path and head to Phoenix Park and The Famine Sculptures. There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Temple Bar, explore the galleries of Kilmainham Gaol, make a trip to Merrion Square, and take in the architecture and design of Trinity College Dublin.

Keep things going the next day: delve into the distant past at Hore Abbey, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Black Abbey, admire the natural beauty at Rothe House and Garden, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Jerpoint Abbey, and finally learn about winemaking at Irish Whiskey Tasting Event.

Take a bus from Dublin to Kilkenny in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. In November, plan for daily highs up to 51°F, and evening lows to 41°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Killarney.
