Bastia is a French commune in the Haute-Corse department of France located in the north-east of the island of Corsica at the base of Cap Corse. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Eglise Saint Jean Baptiste and Torra di Nonza. Get some historical perspective at Cathedrale Sainte-Marie de Bastia and Palais des Gouverneurs. Venture out of the city with trips to Nonza Beach (in Nonza), Marine de Pietracorbara (in Marine de Pietracorbara) and Caval en Liberte (in Saint Florent). There's lots more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Oratoire de la Confrerie de Sainte Croix, take a tour by water with Promenades en Mer du Cap Corse San Paulu, make a trip to Le vieux port, and do a tasting at Domaine Lazzarini.

Corte tourism is based on the region's mountainous terrain, ensuring plenty of photo opps and outdoor activities.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Wed): walk around Reserve Naturelle des Bouches de Bonifacio, stop by A l'anticu Photographie, then head outdoors with Lac de Nino, and finally get outside with Scala di Santa Regina. Keep things going the next day: get outside with Gorges de l'Asco, take in the dramatic scenery at Cascades des Anglais, and then head outdoors with Lac du Capitello.

You can drive from Bastia to Corte in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. In September, plan for daily highs up to 30°C, and evening lows to 19°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Calvi.

Calvi

Calvi is a commune in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica.It is the seat of the Canton of Calvi, which contains Calvi and one other commune, Lumio. Escape the urban bustle at Scuba & Snorkeling and Cirque de Bonifatu. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Punta Spano and Arinella and Algaio Beach. Change things up with these side-trips from Calvi: Eglise de Sant'Antonino (in Sant'Antonino), La Foret de Bonifato (in Calenzana) and Ile Rousse (Plage Ile Rousse & Epir). There's still lots to do: head outdoors with Plage de Calvi, don't miss a visit to Pointe De La Revellata, enjoy the sea views from La Revellata, and contemplate the long history of Citadelle de Calvi.
