Bouillante is a commune in the French overseas region and department of Guadeloupe, in the Lesser Antilles.HistoryBouillante was founded about 1635 with the arrival of some of Guadeloupe's first colonists. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bouillante: Deshaies (Jardin Botanique de Deshaies & Plage de Grande Anse), La Soufriere Volcano (in Saint-Claude) and Plage de la Perle (in Rifflet). The adventure continues: get to know the resident critters at Parc des Mamelles, le Zoo de Guadeloupe, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, visit a coastal fixture at Anse a la Barque, and enjoy the sand and surf at Plage de Malendure.
