A trip to Fukuyama, a riverside city known for its fragrant roses, is not complete without a visit to its main attraction, a quaint port village lined with old wooden houses and fishing boats.
Get some cultural insight at Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter and Io-ji Temple. Visit Tomo no Ura and Fukuyama Castle for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Ohara Museum of Art (in Kurashiki), Kotohira-gu (in Kotohira-cho) and Okayama (RSK Bara Garden, Okayama Korakuen Garden, &more). And it doesn't end there: soak in some Japanese tradition at some of the top local onsens, step into the grandiose world of Bitchu Matsuyama Castle, sample the tasty concoctions at Kamoizumi Sake Brewery, and make a trip to Marugame Castle.

To find where to stay, traveler tips, photos, and more tourist information, go to the Fukuyama trip planning app.

If you are flying in from Malaysia, the closest major aiports are Hiroshima Airport, Okayama Momotaro Airport and Takamatsu Airport. In April, daytime highs in Fukuyama are °C, while nighttime lows are °C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
