City of a Thousand Minarets

More than 20 million people call Cairo their home and, as soon as you set foot in the sprawling metropolis, it's evident they make it crowded and chaotic, but also exuberant and charming.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities and Zamalek (Gezira Island) are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Bent Pyramid and Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan for their historical value. Change things up with a short trip to Memphis and Sakkara in Saqqara (about 48 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: shop like a local with Khan Al-Khalili, stop by Bazar Noobr, and take in the exciting artwork at Oum El Dounia Gallery.

Beirut, Lebanon to Cairo is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive. While traveling from Beirut, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Cairo, ranging from highs of 38°C to lows of 24°C. On the 9th (Sun), you're off to Luxor.

You can fly from Cairo to Luxor in 2.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a train. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Cairo in May: highs in Luxor hover around 45°C, while lows dip to 26°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Wed) early enough to fly to Dahab.

Dahab

Formerly a remote Bedouin village, Dahab now enjoys the status of a resort town and scuba diving heaven.
On the 13th (Thu), discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour. On the 14th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get the adrenaline pumping with an extreme tour and then view the masterpieces at WICKEDiCANDY.

Getting from Luxor to Dahab by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and ferry; or do a combination of car and ferry. Traveling from Luxor in May, expect nights in Dahab to be about the same, around 29°C, while days are a bit cooler, around 40°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
