Kayseri is a large and industrialised city in Central Anatolia, Turkey. Attractions like Goreme National Park and Balloon Rides make great kid-friendly stops. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kayseri: Goreme (Turquoise Rugs & Bags, Goreme Open-Air Museum, &more) and Uchisar Castle (in Uchisar).
