Tonalá is a city and municipality within the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area in the state of Jalisco in Mexico. Explore Tonala's surroundings by going to Galo de Allende (in Mezcala), Ajijic (Ajijic Cemetery, Diane Pearl Collecions, & more) and Parroquia de San Agustin (in Tototlan). The adventure continues: get outside with Sea Adventure, contemplate the long history of Tonala, take in the dramatic scenery at Juanacatlan Falls, and explore the activities along Lake Chapala.

If you are flying in from Canada, the closest major airport is Don Miguel Hidalgo Y Costilla International Airport. In January in Tonala, expect temperatures between 28°C during the day and 7°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Wed) so you can drive to Guadalajara.

One of Mexico's cultural hubs, Guadalajara represents the home of mariachi music and hosts numerous large-scale events, ranging from international film festivals to celebrated book fairs.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Thu): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Expiatory Temple, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Guadalajara Cathedral, then see the interesting displays at Museum of Sacred Art, then meet the residents at Zoologico Guadalajara, and finally listen to music at Teatro Degollado. On your second day here, don't miss a visit to Ajijic Malecon, appreciate the extensive heritage of Romantic Lake Chapala, then stop by Nuestros Dulces, and finally get a sense of history and politics at Palacio de Gobierno.

Guadalajara is very close to Tonala. In January, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 7°C. On the 11th (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive back home.
