Kick off your visit on the 4th (Sat): don't miss a visit to Sendai Station, get engrossed in the history at Zuihoden, explore the historical opulence of Sendaijo Ato, make a trip to Jozenji-dori Avenue, then make a trip to Ruins of the Great East Japan Earthquake Sedai Arahama Elementary School, and finally contemplate the long history of Osaki Hachiman Shrine.

Bangkok, Thailand to Sendai is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry. The time zone difference moving from Indochina Time to Japan Standard Time is 2 hours. Expect colder temperatures when traveling from Bangkok in April; daily highs in Sendai reach 17°C and lows reach 13°C. Rich in culture and history, Aizuwakamatsu has retained much of its traditional character from its days as a feudal capital.
Explore Aizuwakamatsu's surroundings by going to Ouchijuku (in Shimogo-machi), Goshikinuma Lake (in Kitashiobara-mura) and Uesugi Jinja Shrine (in Yonezawa). There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Tsuruga jo Castle, admire the landmark architecture of Aizu Old Samurai Residences, make a trip to Byakkotai's Tomb, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Iimoriyama.

Drive from Sendai to Aizuwakamatsu in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Sendai in April, Aizuwakamatsu is a bit cooler at night with lows of 8°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Tue) early enough to travel to Hiraizumi-cho.

You can drive from Aizuwakamatsu to Hiraizumi-cho in 3.5 hours. In April, daily temperatures in Hiraizumi-cho can reach 17°C, while at night they dip to 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Semboku.

Established in 2005 by the merging of several towns and villages, Semboku boasts an Old Japan atmosphere, punctuated by traditional onsen resorts, old samurai houses, and weeping cherry trees.
