Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
On the 11th (Mon), make a trip to Handmark Galleries, see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Bellerive Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take in the waterfront at Constitution Dock, take a tour of May Queen, then see the interesting displays at Mawson's Hut Replica Museum, and finally steep yourself in history at Hobart Convict Penitentiary.
