Located on the southern tip of the eponymous peninsula, Hengchun serves as the entry point to Kenting National Park, often attracting more travelers than locals with its tropical beach resorts and bustling night markets.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Tue): explore the wealth of natural beauty at Kenting National Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 14th (Wed): look for all kinds of wild species at Kenting Long Keng Ecological Reserve, enjoy the sand and surf at Little Bay Beach, get outside with Dawan Kenting Beach Park, then enjoy the sand and surf at Shadao Ecological Reserve, then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and finally kick back and relax at White Sand Bay.

You can do a combination of train and bus from Taipei to Hengchun in 5 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of flight and bus. In July, daily temperatures in Hengchun can reach 38°C, while at night they dip to 31°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Nantou.

Nantou provides good access to the cultural and natural sites of the surrounding county of the same name.
On the 15th (Thu), don't miss a visit to Wenwu Temple, then explore the landscape on two wheels at Sun Moon Lake Bikeway, then explore the activities along Sun Moon Lake, and finally trek along Hanbi Trail.
