8 days in Taipei Itinerary

Situated in a basin between two mountain ranges, Taipei appeals to tourists with its blend of Asian cultures, living side by side amidst Japanese-era mansions and Taoist temples.

National Palace Museum and Ximending are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Lungshan Temple and Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street) for their historical value. Get out of town with these interesting Taipei side-trips: Fuxing District (Dongyan Mountain Forest Recreation Area & Lala Mountain Nature Reserve), Wangyou Valley (in Zhongzheng District) and Elephant Trunk Rock (in Ruifang). Spend the 10th (Sat) exploring nature at Yangmingshan National Park. Spend the 13th (Tue) exploring nature at Yang Ming Shan Qing Tian Gang. The adventure continues: get a dose of the wild on YOLO Taiwan, get outside with Taiwan Beech National Trail, grab your bike and head to Fengguikou, and trek along 18 Fen Guai Zun Trail.
