Bentota

The coastal town of Bentota boasts a number of seaside attractions to draw in guests.
On the 19th (Fri), stroll through Ahungalla Beach, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kande Viharaya Temple, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Bentota Beach.

Colombo to Bentota is an approximately 2-hour train ride. You can also drive; or take a bus. In March, daytime highs in Bentota are 38°C, while nighttime lows are 29°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Fri) so you can drive to Unawatuna.

Unawatuna

Palm-fringed beaches with golden sand, turquoise water, and a colorful coral reef are enough to draw any beachgoer to Unawatuna, but there's plenty to do off the beach here as well.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Jungle Beach and Unawatuna Beach. Visit Galle Fort and Naga Viharaya for their historical value. Explore Unawatuna's surroundings by going to Mirissa (Mirissa Beach & Dress Palace) and Hikkaduwa Beach (in Hikkaduwa). Next up on the itinerary: tour the pleasant surroundings at Mihiripenna Beach and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery.
