An ancient town center surrounded by medieval ramparts, Avignon is a major city of Provence and a Mediterranean city in the Vaucluse department on the left bank of the Rhône River.
On the 22nd (Sat), snap pictures at Pont d'Avignon and then explore the historical opulence of Palais des Papes. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 23rd (Sun): relax in the rural setting at La Petite Ferme and then indulge your senses at some of the top wineries in the area.

Limoges to Avignon is an approximately 4-hour combination of flight and train. You can also drive; or take a train. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Limoges in February: highs in Avignon hover around °C, while lows dip to °C.
