Matsuyama features a number of historical sites and acts as a gateway for exploring the rest of Shikoku.
On the 24th (Fri), identify plant and animal life at Namekawakeikoku, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ishiteji, then soak in some Japanese tradition at some of the top local onsens, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Isaniwa Shrine. Keep things going the next day: explore the historical opulence of Matsuyama Castle, then browse the different shops at Emifull Masaki, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Ehime Tobe Zoo, and finally examine the collection at Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum.

Singapore, Singapore to Matsuyama is an approximately 11.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Singapore Time (SGT) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Expect cooler weather when traveling from Singapore in May: highs in Matsuyama hover around 25°C, while lows dip to 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Sat) early enough to drive to Takamatsu.

Start off your visit on the 26th (Sun): buy something for everyone on your list at Maritime Plaza Takamatsu, take a stroll around Sunport Hall Takamatsu, then steep yourself in history at Hiunkaku, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Yashima-ji Temple, and finally take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Yashima. Keep things going the next day: stop by Kagawa Bussankan Ritsurinan, take in the pleasant sights at Ritsurin Garden, then explore the historical opulence of Marugame Castle, and finally contemplate the long history of Kotohira-gu Shrine.

Traveling by car from Matsuyama to Takamatsu takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In May in Takamatsu, expect temperatures between 27°C during the day and 17°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 27th (Mon) so you can go by car to Tokushima.

On the 28th (Tue), make a trip to Uzu no Michi, admire the masterpieces at Otsuka Museum of Art, and then take in the awesome beauty at Mount Bizan.

Traveling by car from Takamatsu to Tokushima takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Takamatsu in May, expect nights in Tokushima to be somewhat warmer, around 21°C, while days are little chillier, around 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Tue) so you can drive to Kochi.
