A modern city and a major transport hub facing Seto Inland Sea, Takamatsu offers a bustling city lifestyle contrasted with carefully manicured, tranquil green areas at the foot of the mountains and the lava plateau.
Get out of town with these interesting Takamatsu side-trips: Tokushima (Shimmachi River & Zuiganji Temple), Naruto (Uzu no Michi & Otsuka Museum of Art) and Kotohira-gu (in Kotohira-cho). And it doesn't end there: take in the pleasant sights at Ritsurin Garden, get engrossed in the history at Shikoku Mura Village, and admire the masterpieces at Chichu Art Museum.

Sakon Nakhon, Thailand to Takamatsu is an approximately 19.5-hour flight. You can also drive. The time zone changes from Indochina Time to Japan Standard Time, which is usually a 2 hour difference. Expect colder temperatures when traveling from Sakon Nakhon in November; daily highs in Takamatsu reach 17°C and lows reach 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Tue) so you can drive to Matsuyama.

On the 11th (Wed), take in the spiritual surroundings of Nishiyama Koryuji Temple, take in the spiritual surroundings of Ishiteji, boost your wellbeing at a local thermal spa, then step into the grandiose world of Matsuyama Castle, and finally make a trip to Okaido Shopping Street. Keep things going the next day: contemplate the long history of Garyu Sanso, make a trip to Streets in Yokaichi-Gokoku Areas, find something for the whole family at Ehime Children's Castle, then make a trip to Bocchan Wind up Clock, and finally see the interesting displays at Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum.

Traveling by car from Takamatsu to Matsuyama takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In November, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 13°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Kochi.

The port city of Kochi has a rich and varied history that has left its mark on the look and feel of the urban area.
On the 13th (Fri), make a trip to Ryoma Sakamoto Bronze Statue, head outdoors with Katsura Hama, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chikurinji Temple, then make a trip to Harimaya Bridge, then browse the eclectic array of goods at Hirome Ichiba, and finally explore the historical opulence of Kochi Castle.

You can drive from Matsuyama to Kochi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. In November in Kochi, expect temperatures between 21°C during the day and 12°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
