Inverness, often described as the Gateway to the Highlands, is a thriving commercial and industrial center.
Step out of Inverness with an excursion to RZSS Highland Wildlife Park in Kingussie--about 56 minutes away. There's lots more to do: learn insider's secrets on a distillery tour, expand your understanding of the military at Fort George, examine the collection at The Highlanders' Museum (Queen's Own Highlanders Collection), and steep yourself in history at Urquhart Castle.
