Inverness, often described as the Gateway to the Highlands, is a thriving commercial and industrial center.
Start off your visit on the 15th (Sat): explore the historical opulence of Fort George, then see the interesting displays at The Highlanders' Museum (Queen's Own Highlanders Collection), and then get all the information you need at Culloden Battlefield.

Innsbruck, Austria to Inverness is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or take a train. The time zone difference moving from Central European Time (CET) to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is minus 1 hour. In June, Inverness is little chillier than Innsbruck - with highs of 19°C and lows of 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Sat) early enough to drive to Durness.

Durness is a village and civil parish in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. We've included these beaches for you: Sandwood Bay Beach and Oldshoremore Beach. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Ardvreck Castle and Balnakeil Craft Village. Explore Durness' surroundings by going to Achmelvich Beach (in Lochinver) and Scourie Bay (in Scourie).
