A northern county in the Taebeak Mountain region of South Korea, Pyeongchang offers a plethora of year-round alpine resorts.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Lee Hyo-Seok Memorial Hall and Byeolmaro Observatory. Get a sense of the local culture at Cheonglyeongpo and Wonju City History Museum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Pyeongchang-gun: Danyang-gun (Yangbaek Waterfall & Cheondongdonggul Cave), Woraksan National Park (in Jecheon) and Yeongwol-gun (Korean Peninsula-shaped Cliffs (Seonam Village) & Jangneung). Sokcho

Tourism in Sokcho mostly revolves around the local national park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
On the 21st (Sat), contemplate the waterfront views at Yeongnangho Lake, then contemplate the long history of The 4th Tunnel, then explore the fascinating underground world of Geumganggul Cave, and finally see the interesting displays at Teddy Bear Farm. On the 22nd (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: examine the collection at National Mountain Museum, hike along Ulsanbawi Rock, then enjoy the sand and surf at Songjiho Beach, then enjoy the sand and surf at Cheonjin Beach, and finally enjoy the sea views from Sokcho Lighthouse Observatory.

Traveling by car from Pyeongchang-gun to Sokcho takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or take a bus. On the 23rd (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive back home.
